The Game

A game of simplicity and speed. Two cards are dealt and if nor consecutive nor equal the spread is announced and a third card is dealt, no jokers or wild cards are used.

How to Play Red Dog Poker

The participants play against the dealer (the bank) independent of other players. Once in the game the number cards count as their face value, Jack is 11, Queen is 12, King is 13 and Ace is 14. The suit is irrelevant. Two cards will be dealt on to the table with a gap between the two cards. If the cards are not consecutive or equal a marker will be placed showing the spread, the position of which will be based on the difference in the values of the two cards.

The objective in Red Dog Poker is to predict the range in which the value of the third card will fall. If the third card's value falls between the values of the first two cards then you win. If the card is outside of this range the wager is lost.

Once the two cards have been dealt, the user has the option to either "Raise" or "Call". If you are confident that the third card's value will fall between that of the first two, then you should "Raise" and in doing so, doubling the size of the wager and the potential winnings. If you do not wish to increase the size of the wager you should simply "Call".

Once either option has been chosen the third card will be dealt and the hand processed accordingly.

If the first two cards dealt are of the same value, they are considered a "Pair" and the hand is automatically considered a tie. Similarly if two cards with values that only differ by one (1) the hand is called a "Consecutive" and is considered a tie. If a tie occurs you receive your original wager back. In the case of a pair a third card is automatically dealt to check whether a third card of the same value will be dealt.

If this happens the hand is called "Three of a Kind" and will pay 11:1 odds.

Deal

Two cards are drawn. If the cards are consecutive, it is a push and your wager is returned to you and the round is over. If the cards are equal, a third card is drawn. If it matches the first two cards, you win 11 to 1, if the card does not match it's a push.

If the two cards are neither consecutive nor equal, the spread is established. The spread is the number of card values between the two cards. For example 5 and 10 have a spread of 4.

You now have the option to raise, double your bet. Or to call, continue without raising.

Third Card

A third card is drawn. If it is between the two cards, you win accordingly to the payout table. If it matches one of the two cards or is outside the spread, you lose.

The two Tie bets and the spread 11:1 does not permit a raise.

House Edge

Per the definition of standard rules of Nevada casinos, eight deck shoe, and the above rules the following house edges applies.

Eight deck game and optimal play house edge is 2.75%.
